About Moi

I was born in June 1981, I'm a hearing impaired paper-crafter who loves all things crafty. I sew, although I'm still very much a novice at sewing. I bake and cook hopefully all kinds of delicious treats. I have a huge passion for photography and the camera {yes I'm old school I still use an actual camera} is never far from me. I also love creative writing from making up sentiments/verses for my cards and other paper-craft projects to penning some fiction. I am an avid reader and I may even throw in some book reviews on here too!

Going in circles

Over at Ikes world challenges it is going in circles fortnight.  I'm not very good at thinking normally whether that's in circles or not.  However, this time I went a little strange and decided the circles I was going in would be whilst trying to knock a golf ball in one of those tiny holes on the crazy golf course so here's a scrap page from me and be sure to hop over and check out the challenge:

It is 3D fortnight at:One Stitch at a time and I've chosen to use a template from  Cut and Craft to make a book of gardens.

I really loved this project it gave me the opportunity to add lots of details and most of all combine my two favourite hobbies, books and craft.

I am entering the book of gardens into the following challenges;

I have also made myself a little box of books.  I saw online an idea of a jar containing slips of paper with all the books in your "too read" pile written on.  It's supposed to aid you in decided what to read next.  I'm always all of a dither on what to read next so jumped at this idea.  However, I wanted to decorate the jar then I had the idea of just making a simple small box, decorated using distress inks and hand drawn using a quickie glue pen then heat embossed books.  I made tiny books on to write my too read books on and popped them in the box.  Typically since making this I haven't finsihed a book to chose a new one!

Love Actually

It is "love actually" fortnight at Ike's World Challenges and by coincidence a very good friend of mine was getting married at the end of January.  I wanted to make her a special card and of course, where else would I look than the fabulous images at Ike's store?  They are both unique and gorgeous giving the perfect image for what I was looking for.  I got so thrilled with the card and getting it sent in time I forgot to write in it so Rachel this is for you!

Rach you have been an amazing friend to me over the years and I'm so thrilled to be around to witness your next journey in life, you've shone beautifully through your romance with David and I know marrying him will only make you a brighter star.  I wish you all the luck and happiness in the world that you deserve and far more besides.  I truly hope your day was a magical one.

Love 'n' hugs

Here's Rach's card...which is very simple I'm sorry to say.

Love is in the air and some brusho cards

It is Love is in the air week at One stitch at a time I have chosen my love of long winter nights curled up in a warm glow of light with a good book on a heart shaped card using one of the bookatrix style score boards.

I am entering this in the following challenges:

I have also taken advantage of being unwell and having to rest by crafting, very basic cards but hopefully they look okay.  I've used brusho's and heat embossed a sentiment on them.
