About Moi

I was born in June 1981, I'm a hearing impaired paper-crafter who loves all things crafty. I sew, although I'm still very much a novice at sewing. I bake and cook hopefully all kinds of delicious treats. I have a huge passion for photography and the camera {yes I'm old school I still use an actual camera} is never far from me. I also love creative writing from making up sentiments/verses for my cards and other paper-craft projects to penning some fiction. I am an avid reader and if you are very unlucky I may even throw in some book reviews on here too!

Deep in the Abyss

I have a passion for the oceans and Marine life, I love how creatures have spectacular colour and the differences in anatomy.  So for this challenge at Ikes World Challenges I have created a tin of the ocean depths {Coral Reef and Arctic Depths} and some icy land coverage in the Arctic.  I choose marine life that lives in both areas and the starfish straddles both because I once saw a Sir David Attenborough program in which the starfish froze and survived the cold.  I should warn there are a LOT of photos for this one!  I have covered the acetate for the frozen ice with crackle glaze, I purposely left it clear so you can see through into the depths of the abyss.  I cut a slice into the acetate for the Narwhal to come through as it surfaces for air.

Thursday Adventure ~ Willand ~ Garden Party

Today's Thursday Adventure took me to a garden party in Willand.  For the last seven years Mary has held a garden party for the lipreading Phoenix group.  For many of those years I've been helping.  Today is the last one, it is bittersweet, I love them and will miss them but they are a lot of hard work.

To go out with a bang I made sure there were extra special afternoon tea nibbles and even some menus to go with it.

Christmas

I have been making Christmas Cards for a while now but I recently fell in love with Hobby Art stamps and have loved turning these into Christmas Cards

This last card should have been my entry in the flower show at the weekend but I stupidly forgot and had my name on the insert.  I didn't have time to colour another one up so had to make do with what I had coloured.
