About Moi

I was born in June 1981, I'm a hearing impaired paper-crafter who loves all things crafty. I sew, although I'm still very much a novice at sewing. I bake and cook hopefully all kinds of delicious treats. I have a huge passion for photography and the camera {yes I'm old school I still use an actual camera} is never far from me. I also love creative writing from making up sentiments/verses for my cards and other paper-craft projects to penning some fiction. I am an avid reader and I may even throw in some book reviews on here too!

"Hello" Cards and a Journal page

As my previous post mentioned I do like to send some happy post and here are a few cards I send randomly to some friends.  Oh and a journal page I made as a back up for the stitching theme at International Art & Soul when I was scared my actual sewing wouldn't be finished.  I got rather carried away with the journal page.  I was inspired by the background I'd done using Gelatos.  I had done the background without anything in mind and then I suddenly saw the stripes as the tent in a circus/carnvial and magic those smeared ink Freak Stamps came out and my Soul relaxed and healed as I created.

Happy Post

Happy Post is something that I really enjoy making.  I love sending something to someone and making them smile, not because it's their birthday, I owe a thank you or Christmas or even Easter but because I just really like making people smile, it makes me happy and I feel good.  Over at Ikes world challenges you can either create something for the theme Happy Post or just anything you want with the anything goes theme.

It is stitching fortnight at International Art and Soul and I have shed tears and a lot of blood, along with a lot of unpleasant language.  This wasn't as easy as I had hoped.  However with a lot of thanks to my stitching angels at IAS I have actually completed this oh and the issue with the cotton, such a silly thing...my stitches were too small, not enough cotton to reach through for the next stitch.

Around the World in Cultures

Welcome to part four of my travels discovering different countries cultures through craft.

This time I am stopping off in Sweden I have learnt that:

  • The Church of Sweden is Lutheran but other established religions include Christianity, Catholicism, Islam, Judaism and Buddhism.
  • Nordic patterns are now very popular in the craft world, the baking world and many aspects of interior design.

Hello from behind the Camera Lense

I've been playing with the camera again.  Firstly a little story.  I went to get some eggs from my grandparents {they have chicken} and knowing they had sold some chicken I didn't expect that there would be many eggs, I was wrong!  Whilst there I went to see how the baby Gozzles {Goslings} were that had been hatched for someone and found not only the Gozzles but these gorgeous little Chickles too.

Now if I've posted these before I am so sorry!  However, I've been watching some deer feed in the field opposite of an evening, so of course the camera HAD to come out!

Finally this gorgeous sunset from yesterday evening.

Autumn is one of my favourite seasons {okay so I like them all for different reasons} mainly because I love the burnt oranges and umbers, the golden glow of a low weak sun, nature shedding leaves and blossoms returning them to the earth to replenish the goodness in time for the re-awaking of life through tree leaves in spring that lifts the heart and soul, the chilly days hinting at the winter months ahead.  I could go on forever about what I love about Autumn but the point is to share what I have made for this challenge.  This time I've made an Autumnal Green Man {yes that does slightly defeat the point of the Green Man but I love him and will always find ways to use him} and some brushos, texture paste and masks to alter this notebook cover.

Fairy Flying

It's fairly flying over at Ikes world challenges or Anything goes.  I can never resist using this gorgeous "Saucy Fairy" designed by Ike.

Hot Colours

It's hot colours fortnight over at International Art & Soul , I have used distress crayons to colour the tissue paper on the background of the card.  The image is so cute and adorable and is coloured with coloursoft pencils.
