This fortnight over at Ikes World Challenges the requirement is to create using this sketch.



It's that time of year, where the Christmas tree has gone, the evenings are getting lighter and I'm thinking of spring and that bursts of sunshine.  However in my head somewhere is that nagging thought that if I don't get a move on my handmade Christmas will be a disaster.  So it's time to start lists of whose getting what, how many cards are needed and of course to make a start on them.  which is exactly what I did with this challenge.

I have some special friends who get some extra special cards where possible and these always take more time to make so I try to get them done as soon as possible.  Anyway this is my take on the sketch with a Christmas card.


For this card I have used the two images from Ike's Art, Hot Santa and Santa Hunk and I decided that I would go down the all things Christmas route a little further and use a song lyric as a sentiment.



 I used the "all I want for Christmas is you" song lyric and tried to position it and imply that Hot Santa just want's Santa Hunk for Christmas.





I admit I'm unsure how this card will envelope with it's unusual shape but I had great fun making it and I'm sure the recipient will love it.

One Stitch At A Time {OSAAT} Challenge 236 Anything Goes Special Lady

This is my first post for One Stitch At  A Time {I’m am so honoured to be allowed to cover for Nataliya whilst she takes a holiday} and I wanted it to say something about me as well as the theme for the challenge. The theme this fortnight as One Stitch at a time  is anything goes with special lady.  Now I have a few of those in my life, however recently one person has shown me just what a special lady they are through helping me when things got tough.  I send her happy mail a lot and she gets a special birthday card but when it comes to Christmas…the sheer number of cards to be made and sent at the same time means she generally gets a boring handmade card.  I saw the OSAAT challenge theme as a good way to show her how special I think she is at Christmas. The beauty of death

Gosh here I am blogging again...this time it's a "dark" art journal page.  I love doing these I just sit and play and see what happens.  There's something natural about dark craft that appears to my soul begging for freedom.  I lost track of time and it was only several hours later I emerged ravenous and realising Nan had slept for far too long...tonight I fear could be bad! I've used images from  Ikes Art  to create this page about the beauty of death.  I was really excited when I discovered it was to be a "dark" image over at Ike's Facebook Group challenge this month, I just don't see the "darker" images and creations around much. To make this I've used a background of distress crayons, the tree is made using novou mousse, the leaves are brushos, the mushrooms are stamped as are the bugs from various Hobby Art  stamp sets.  The quote is one I thought of suddenly at the end of the project and is written by me.  It reads: ...
