Sall the Crafty Baker

Today's challenge was entitled Baubilicious and so I used some bauble stamps from  Hobby Art  to make an accordian card.  The accordian card is made using Die'sire dies.

I'm starting to get on with my birthday cards now as I'm going to need them fairly soon.  This one is for my Dad's Mum.  I have used a piece of scrap card for the background and the hydrangea is from  Hobby Art .  The card is a simple stepper card made using a die. 

Theme: Christmas Prepartions This week I've gone for an unusual style card.  I was wondering what I could do for Christmas prepartions and decided on the Turkey.  For a lot of people what will be eaten at Christmas is more important than the gifts so I thought rather than an obvious dinner I would go for something funny. I have used  Hobby Arts  Turkey stamps and included the Down with Christmas slogan and hidden my Turkey's head under a paper bag as he tries to escape the Christmas cull. Again I've made a simple stepper card using a die, mostly because they are easy but also because the size and shape lends itself to the images well I think.

Welcome to the midway point at  Ike's World Challenges  the theme this time is Naughty or Nice.  I figured it was easy to go one way or the other but upon browsing the images in  Ike's Art Store  I came across a skeleton cake with someone popping out of it.  Cake is nice and tempting but it's also naughty because the sugar and calories are "bad" for you.  I went with this image and made a "tiled" background like the splashback in the kitchen using a stencil and gelatos/distress crayons.  I finished the piece off with an explosion of words about the images.

The theme at IAAS this fortnight is sketch, yup you need to follow the sketch.    You can find the challenge on the  International Art and Soul blog .  I found this REALLY hard...everytime I put one thing down I wanted to move something or add something.  This challenge was a huge challenge for me so thank you guys...but please let my hair grow back before I keep pulling it out during a challenge. This week my Theme is Polar Christmas.  I've chosen to use  Hobby Arts  Penguin stamps, I love these stamps they are so adorble. It's not often I go for something cute but when Nature makes it this cute not even I can resist.  The card is a simple stepper card made using a die.

I was inspired to write this quote by a conversation with a friend.  I then turned it into a plaque in her favourite colour, I wasn't really expecting her to keep it but she has hung it in her bedroom much to my surprise. The quote is entirely my own and copyright to me! This week I'm struggling, I want to craft but time feels against me.  I am struggling under the pressure of increased caring duties and the expectations of others in terms of it feels as though I have to justify why I am making mistakes and not achieveing everything.  I've also started to really notice that because I could really use someone saying it's okay, it doesn't matter that the isolation of caring has really hit.  My phone has ceased to ping with texts and if I make the effort they go unanswered because I am just a negative moaner however yesterday I did manage to get some crafting done.  So I decided to crack on with my Christmas Card Challenge and for a short while at least I felt good about something and myself. My theme this time is Holly Jolly Christmas and for this I used an image from  Ikes Art  to create this card.  I love this image although I doubt I have done it justice. 

Well it's that time of year when I have to get a start on my Birthday cards for the year.  I hate last minute cards so try to get ahead.  I've made this unicorn card for a friends daughter.  I've used Brushos for the background of the horse, the horse is from  Ikes Art  and I've used her Narwhal tusk for the unicorns horn. 

IAAS have a new challenge and this one is Favourite Song.  You can find the challenge on the  International Art and Soul blog .  Now I have a confession I think the last time I acutally heard a song and not only understand it had words as well as noise was probably when I was about three...possibly into primary school but not beyond age seven and most of my music knowledge from them is hymns so I asked a friend to guide me.  She not only gave me the song.... Freya Ridding Castle but also told what that meant in terms of a theme.  I could have but chose not to google lyrics as I find it hard determine meaning out of context so I have totally trusted my friend and can only hope I have done it justice.
