So it's time for my second post using  Ikes Art  images to travel the world. Italy: So Italy is famous for: Florence Nightingale... A famous Nurse who cared for soldiers during the Crimean War The Leaning Tower of Pizza... Built as a freestanding bell tower for the Cathedral it holds seven bells and was not destroyed during WW2 unlike other landmarks.  It took 344 years to build. Japan: I also hopped across to Japan on this map and discovered that: In Japanese Japan means Sun Origin The Ancient Japanese are called Samurai

It's Easter/Spring/Flowers or Anything goes over at  Ikes World Challenges  and you still have several days to enter the challenge. These Gorgeous snowdrops are drawn by superbly talented Ike as are the floral borders.

It's things with wings time over at  International Art and Soul  and whilst I thought about the usual route of angels, birds and mythical creatures I swayed towards a set of Dylusions stamps that I acquired.  Mine were purchased on Amazon but anywhere that sells Tim Holtz will have them. I love that I can piece the stamps together and create something unique each time. I've also used Dylusions paint on this card and a texture paste stencil for the background.

This was a last minute make when I realised I didn't have enough Easter Cards and my planned gift went wrong.  I didn't have the time to salvage it and decided this was the quickest thing I could make. I've used an image from  Ike's Art  for the Easter Card.  The embossing folder on the notebook is Sara Davies.

This is another card post, I am so sorry everyone. This time I have made a selection of Christmas Cards and a special Thank You card for my friends mum.  She has been very kind to me over the years and I miss sitting in her kitchen chatting and learning how to bake and cook. I miss the days when I could eat her cooking too {sadly I played naughty with the dairy allergy too often and it is now a serious allergy that has me fighting for breath as soon as I come into contact with it let alone ingest it.} so this very special card is especially for her.  I also made and wrote a Mothers Day card and then gave it to my Dad for him to give to his Mum...it did take a reminder but he did remember and on the right day too. {I love Derwent Metallic pencils, they make this flower stamp look like it has no lines on the edges}

For years I have been interested in history and how we got to where we are today, how our ancestors made the world how we know it now.  Along the way cultures and beliefs have come and gone but to me they are still the root point from which we all stem.  I love learning about historic cultures and what influences we still share with them today.  I had this insane idea that I wanted to use my crafting to explore these cultures, no doubt inspired by some of the world series images over at Ikes Art .  I spoke to Ike and she very kindly drew some more images to help me travel the world.  I used a downloadable world map for the base of my journal pages. Today is International Romani Day, at the heart of Romani is travelling and as far as I can tell this is a perfect way to start my world tour of cultures.  On the tour I take in countries from Australia and New Zealand right the way up to the Inuits in the Artic Circle. It's time to think about the garden over at  Ike's world challenges , Of course you can go with anything goes but I couldn't resist a humorous twist on the theme this fortnight.  I do feel as though my brain has been eaten and replaced my brains a lot of the time and this image shows how I feel perfectly.
