Pun intended

It is Pun intended week two at http://ikesworldchallengeblog.blogspot.co.uk/ and I have been extraordinarily lucky enough to create a very special wedding card for a very special friend who got married on August 6th.  Obviously I am biased but she did look beautiful and every bit the princess.



Of course I couldn't stop at the card, so I made her a scroll with a missive on especially for them.  Although I won't be sharing that...it is entirely up to them should they wish to do so.

I've used the word "union" as the pun for this card.  It's written on the rugby ball.  I'm not a fan of sports but for this particular friend I do watch the rugby to talk to her about it and it seemed apt to use something personal on their card.  Just in case the pun needs explaining I've gone for Marriage UNION and Rugby UNION.

I fear I am going to miss her more than I care to admit and I'd like to thank Ike in advance for coming up with some amazing images and hopefully more challenges that will allow me to craft in a way that heals my soul and emotions over time.

    Sall amazing! I love that you have a blog and I love the creativity of this. Who else gets married with a rugby ball hahahaha. And I love the UNION part of it cuz many people have these unions and just don't talk about it - you know - thinking weddings have to be so sterile and all. This is the best. Your blog is gorgeous, background beautiful. xox

One Stitch At A Time {OSAAT} Challenge 236 Anything Goes Special Lady

This is my first post for One Stitch At  A Time {I’m am so honoured to be allowed to cover for Nataliya whilst she takes a holiday} and I wanted it to say something about me as well as the theme for the challenge. The theme this fortnight as One Stitch at a time  is anything goes with special lady.  Now I have a few of those in my life, however recently one person has shown me just what a special lady they are through helping me when things got tough.  I send her happy mail a lot and she gets a special birthday card but when it comes to Christmas…the sheer number of cards to be made and sent at the same time means she generally gets a boring handmade card.  I saw the OSAAT challenge theme as a good way to show her how special I think she is at Christmas. The beauty of death

Gosh here I am blogging again...this time it's a "dark" art journal page.  I love doing these I just sit and play and see what happens.  There's something natural about dark craft that appears to my soul begging for freedom.  I lost track of time and it was only several hours later I emerged ravenous and realising Nan had slept for far too long...tonight I fear could be bad! I've used images from  Ikes Art  to create this page about the beauty of death.  I was really excited when I discovered it was to be a "dark" image over at Ike's Facebook Group challenge this month, I just don't see the "darker" images and creations around much. To make this I've used a background of distress crayons, the tree is made using novou mousse, the leaves are brushos, the mushrooms are stamped as are the bugs from various Hobby Art  stamp sets.  The quote is one I thought of suddenly at the end of the project and is written by me.  It reads: ...
