Safe doesn't have to be boring, routine and repetitive.

Last week I was feeling uncertain, unsure and nervous about my walk.  I had a choice to two places in mind...Axmouth/Seaton and Branscombe.  While the later is lovely I had a less than relaxing walk there once before and I just wasn't sure I was up to it again. A friend urged me to go the "safe" walk at Axmouth/Seaton.  I've been many times, it just happens to be my favourite beach and it's always interesting.  I even  managed to talk to someone without panicking so it must be good.  However, I did expect other than different waves and things along the sea shore for it to be the "same old" yet it wasn't ...nature never is the "same old".  It is always different, evokes different feelings yet still installs a calmness in me.  I'm so thrilled I went because I happen to think these are my favourite photos to date...don't panic though I'm not going to share all 444 with you!

    Well, it looks like you had some gorgeous weather that day Sall :-) That place is so pretty. I like that picture of the tyre thingy for mooring boats to - it looks like a giant bath plug ! If you pull it, the sea would go out. LoL xxx

One Stitch At A Time {OSAAT} Challenge 236 Anything Goes Special Lady

This is my first post for One Stitch At  A Time {I’m am so honoured to be allowed to cover for Nataliya whilst she takes a holiday} and I wanted it to say something about me as well as the theme for the challenge. The theme this fortnight as One Stitch at a time  is anything goes with special lady.  Now I have a few of those in my life, however recently one person has shown me just what a special lady they are through helping me when things got tough.  I send her happy mail a lot and she gets a special birthday card but when it comes to Christmas…the sheer number of cards to be made and sent at the same time means she generally gets a boring handmade card.  I saw the OSAAT challenge theme as a good way to show her how special I think she is at Christmas. The beauty of death

Gosh here I am blogging again...this time it's a "dark" art journal page.  I love doing these I just sit and play and see what happens.  There's something natural about dark craft that appears to my soul begging for freedom.  I lost track of time and it was only several hours later I emerged ravenous and realising Nan had slept for far too long...tonight I fear could be bad! I've used images from  Ikes Art  to create this page about the beauty of death.  I was really excited when I discovered it was to be a "dark" image over at Ike's Facebook Group challenge this month, I just don't see the "darker" images and creations around much. To make this I've used a background of distress crayons, the tree is made using novou mousse, the leaves are brushos, the mushrooms are stamped as are the bugs from various Hobby Art  stamp sets.  The quote is one I thought of suddenly at the end of the project and is written by me.  It reads: ...
