Shaker Card

I have seen and admired shaker cards but was never really sure about making them.  Then I saw someone making snow globes using baubles and decided to give a snow globe shaker card a go.

I've used a clear plastic bauble {widely recycled} and some glitter to "shake" as snow {Eco glitter can be used}.  I've stamped my image from Hobby Art and coloured it using procolour pencils.  I've cut it into a circle and tipped the half of my bauble upside and poured in some glitter.  Then I've used Cosmic Shimmer glue around the bauble edge and stuck the stamped image to the bauble.

At this point it's ESSENTIAL you let this dry totally before progressing with your card.  For mine I've used a blue and silver bursho background and gold card for the snow globe base.  The greeting is die cut.

Once the bauble is dry you can attach it to your card.  Remember that the bauble will make it heavy so you may need to stick an extra layer of card to the back of your card to help it stand up.

One Stitch At A Time {OSAAT} Challenge 236 Anything Goes Special Lady

This is my first post for One Stitch At  A Time {I’m am so honoured to be allowed to cover for Nataliya whilst she takes a holiday} and I wanted it to say something about me as well as the theme for the challenge. The theme this fortnight as One Stitch at a time  is anything goes with special lady.  Now I have a few of those in my life, however recently one person has shown me just what a special lady they are through helping me when things got tough.  I send her happy mail a lot and she gets a special birthday card but when it comes to Christmas…the sheer number of cards to be made and sent at the same time means she generally gets a boring handmade card.  I saw the OSAAT challenge theme as a good way to show her how special I think she is at Christmas. The beauty of death

Gosh here I am blogging again...this time it's a "dark" art journal page.  I love doing these I just sit and play and see what happens.  There's something natural about dark craft that appears to my soul begging for freedom.  I lost track of time and it was only several hours later I emerged ravenous and realising Nan had slept for far too long...tonight I fear could be bad! I've used images from  Ikes Art  to create this page about the beauty of death.  I was really excited when I discovered it was to be a "dark" image over at Ike's Facebook Group challenge this month, I just don't see the "darker" images and creations around much.
