Due to a set of stressful circumstances there was no adventure last week.  However, during the week I stumbled upon a recipe for Bara Brith biscuits/Cookies.  Now I love Bara Brith and decided I just had to try these biscuits, they are perfect for winter/Christmas as they are spiced.  I have also found a taste for some vegan Chocolate and Ginger biscuits but my scrooge like manner does not appreciate the cost of them so I figured it was time I learnt to bake my own Ginger Biscuits...and not gingerbread men/houses.  I had scoured the net and wasn't convinced by the recipes I found and then found one in a cookie book that I already had and that I love it has lots of absolutely delicious biscuits in.  They have come out perfect in taste and crispy so they have a crunch when you bite them or dunked in your chosen beverage doesn't go too soggy.

    Ooooh - never heard of the top batch !! Those ginger cookies look AMAZING - just like my friend here bakes them and they taste exactly like the well known ones in packets !!!!! :-D :-D

One Stitch At A Time {OSAAT} Challenge 236 Anything Goes Special Lady

This is my first post for One Stitch At  A Time {I’m am so honoured to be allowed to cover for Nataliya whilst she takes a holiday} and I wanted it to say something about me as well as the theme for the challenge. The theme this fortnight as One Stitch at a time  is anything goes with special lady.  Now I have a few of those in my life, however recently one person has shown me just what a special lady they are through helping me when things got tough.  I send her happy mail a lot and she gets a special birthday card but when it comes to Christmas…the sheer number of cards to be made and sent at the same time means she generally gets a boring handmade card.  I saw the OSAAT challenge theme as a good way to show her how special I think she is at Christmas. The beauty of death

Gosh here I am blogging again...this time it's a "dark" art journal page.  I love doing these I just sit and play and see what happens.  There's something natural about dark craft that appears to my soul begging for freedom.  I lost track of time and it was only several hours later I emerged ravenous and realising Nan had slept for far too long...tonight I fear could be bad! I've used images from  Ikes Art  to create this page about the beauty of death.  I was really excited when I discovered it was to be a "dark" image over at Ike's Facebook Group challenge this month, I just don't see the "darker" images and creations around much. To make this I've used a background of distress crayons, the tree is made using novou mousse, the leaves are brushos, the mushrooms are stamped as are the bugs from various Hobby Art  stamp sets.  The quote is one I thought of suddenly at the end of the project and is written by me.  It reads: ...
