Autumnal walks

Well it could be argued that Autumn has long gone but we are still technically in Autumn, Winter Solstice isn't until the 22nd December and that is when Winter officially starts.  Regardless of the season I am still going to share some photos from my walk in early October around Killerton.  As you can see I'm adding photo posts on any days I blog now, not just because I have an awful lot of photos I want to share but because come the new year I am changing the way I blog.  I want to bring "me" back into it, share the things I love not just the things I think others will like.

These photos were taken on a quick walk around the Chapel grounds and down into the formal gardens at Killerton.  I love taking this route as it's always quiet and there are far less people around increasing the opportunities of seeing wildlife.  There are some very cheeky squirrels in the chapel grounds.









As you can see the photos are rather dark, I was using a manual setting and hadn't quite worked out how to make it lighter when I took the squirrels but I gradually got there as time went by.










There is something instantly mesmerizing and calming about the Chapel.





As a child I loved collecting conkers but as an adult I love even more photographing and watching the conkers as they emerge from the prickly shell.

One Stitch At A Time {OSAAT} Challenge 236 Anything Goes Special Lady

This is my first post for One Stitch At  A Time {I’m am so honoured to be allowed to cover for Nataliya whilst she takes a holiday} and I wanted it to say something about me as well as the theme for the challenge. The theme this fortnight as One Stitch at a time  is anything goes with special lady.  Now I have a few of those in my life, however recently one person has shown me just what a special lady they are through helping me when things got tough.  I send her happy mail a lot and she gets a special birthday card but when it comes to Christmas…the sheer number of cards to be made and sent at the same time means she generally gets a boring handmade card.  I saw the OSAAT challenge theme as a good way to show her how special I think she is at Christmas. The beauty of death

Gosh here I am blogging again...this time it's a "dark" art journal page.  I love doing these I just sit and play and see what happens.  There's something natural about dark craft that appears to my soul begging for freedom.  I lost track of time and it was only several hours later I emerged ravenous and realising Nan had slept for far too long...tonight I fear could be bad! I've used images from  Ikes Art  to create this page about the beauty of death.  I was really excited when I discovered it was to be a "dark" image over at Ike's Facebook Group challenge this month, I just don't see the "darker" images and creations around much. To make this I've used a background of distress crayons, the tree is made using novou mousse, the leaves are brushos, the mushrooms are stamped as are the bugs from various Hobby Art  stamp sets.  The quote is one I thought of suddenly at the end of the project and is written by me.  It reads: ...
