Sall the Crafty Baker

Over at  Ikes World Challenges  this week we would love you to make us laugh. My humour is somewhat off at times and things that shouldn't be funny are.  Anyway I decided I wanted to do something a little different and a play on the traditional, kiss a frog to find a prince.  This time the 'saucy fairy' has kissed her prince to turn him into a zombie frog making sure nobody will fall in love and take her prince away.

Glad you could join us, this set is special to my heart because it's so easy to use and works well as embellishments. Smeared and Smudged are having a facebook event for art journalling and I have a little addiction to their stamps.  So having watched the how to video I used the inspiration of the words "Take A Deep Breath" at the end of the video.   Okay so for this I used blue cardstock and covered it with screwed up wax paper. I've used the abyss rubber stamps and liquid pearls. I've coloured everything using H2O's. I've taken inspiration from the words in the video "Take a deep breath" the mermaid etc are slowly releasing their breath {the liquid pearl air bubbles} as they float weightlessly into the tranquil abyss. I've used a couple quotes from that stamp set too.

This fortnight over at  Ikes World Challenges  the requirement is to create using this sketch. It's that time of year, where the Christmas tree has gone, the evenings are getting lighter and I'm thinking of spring and that bursts of sunshine.  However in my head somewhere is that nagging thought that if I don't get a move on my handmade Christmas will be a disaster.  So it's time to start lists of whose getting what, how many cards are needed and of course to make a start on them.  which is exactly what I did with this challenge. I have some special friends who get some extra special cards where possible and these always take more time to make so I try to get them done as soon as possible.  Anyway this is my take on the sketch with a Christmas card. Well with all these books I'm reading and no bookmark {I think the bed ate it because I can't find it} I clearly needed to get inky and make myself another one.  I think these might become popular gifts this year, well popular from the point that I adore making them so there will be lots to give away. For this one I have stamped my new favourite stamps from smeared ink  and cut them out, placing them on as clean a piece of white card I could keep it but with red ink about it was never going to stay spotless lol.  I then backed it onto red card.  I'm going to upload this to the following challenges:   White and one other colour at Quoth the Raven  and  Smudgy Antics anything goes .

Hey everyone, This should be my last DT post for  Ike's World Challenges  {assuming I have counted properly which I doubt very much}.  I have loved every second of my time working with some very talented people and am delighted to say some are life long friends.  The encouragement to express my creativity and insane ideas has been faultless and such a positive experience, I would like to thank you all because I all I have learnt will forever remain with me. However, I am delighted to say that my insaness is welcome and I will be staying on with Ike's world challenges.  Thank you so much for letting me stay it is amazing and I am sure some day soon I will stop smiling about it. Well I admit that this project relates to the theme in what could be an 'abstract' way. I couldn't decide how to go about this until I was talking to a friend who suggested I use some art journalling...this is the result.  Something old is quite easy, I love a bit of history...

The challenge this time over at Ikes world challenges is creepmas AKA the dark side of Christmas.  This was a little tricky for me because to me Christmas is all about the sparkle and the colour for me.  I did however have an idea when I saw the nativity set in Ikes store. I printed the stable multiple times and coloured each one as I wasn't sure how much of each or where I was going to cut the decoupage lines to begin with.  I also printed, the star, stable doors, nativity, Holly fairy, Kings, herod, hay bales, angel and a large holly leaf.  I coloured it all using a combination of promarkers, inktense pencils, h2O's and colour soft pencils, oh and some weird glitter pens that I'm not sure I like, before I started fixing it together.  I started by sticking the flap of the door behind the nativity and gluing it all in.
